Weekend Nature Walks

At the moment we're not able to visit the woods together but that's not going to stop us exploring and enjoying nature!


Each week one of the Grow team will introduce a nature walk, we will include a short video, some photos and maybe a resource to give you a bit of inspiration of what you could look out for as you explore the area around where you live. We think you'll be surprised at what you find.

Extra points if you spot our cat, Heston making a cameo appearance!

Here are just a few of the things we found on a short walk near our house. We looked on the path (watching out for dog poo too!), on garden walls, up in trees. I realised that I never take time to stop and look up in the trees, we're usually to focused on getting to school on time.

Taking time to walk outside also improved everyones mood, the kids were more settled and I felt much less grumpy by the time we got home. 

You can find the Woodland Trust nature spotter here. Print it off, take it on a phone. Don't worry if you can't spot all of them, it's just to give you a bit of inspiration.
