Service Description

15 Growing a Community Garden sessions running every Thursday, 1 - 3pm. Starting Thursday 27 November and ending on Thursday 19 March 2026. Weekly Thursday afternoon sessions where participants are invited to spend time outdoors learning how to care for a community garden through the winter season. Participants will gain practical skills in food growing, soil care, composting and simple tool use while contributing to the Bentinck Street Community Garden, which is theirs to use on an ongoing basis. They will build confidence and make local connections with a shared purpose. Join us for relaxed, hands-on gardening in a calm community setting where everyone can learn at their own pace and enjoy the benefits of being outdoors together. Adults of all ages and stories are welcome. Free sessions, booking required. 🕔 Thursdays, 1 to 3 pm 📍 Bentinck Street Community Garden, at the end of Hilton Close, Birkenhead CH41 4NA 👥 How to book: Just click on the green 'click now' button. 💚 For adults living locally who would enjoy gentle outdoor activity, learning new skills, meeting others and becoming part of a growing community space. Please note! We encourage you to book on to all of the sessions, but you are welcome to book onto as many or as few as you like. Cancellation Policy

Bookings are non-refundable. In exceptional circumstances, when you are unable to attend a session, please contact the Grow Programme Director, who, at their discretion, may allow for an alternative session. Occasionally, where participant numbers have not reached the required number to feasibly go ahead, Grow-Wellbeing may cancel a session, with at least 2 days notice ahead of a scheduled session, and fees will be refunded. Sessions may be cancelled in the event of severe winds or an electrical storm. In the event of this, you will be given the option of an alternative date or a full refund.
